I am the founder and director of the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

For 12 years, I published a magazine about Mexican art, history, culture, food, travel… called Another Day in Paradise, it was read by hundreds of thousands of tourists and ex-pats all across North America. It was also a community magazine that celebrated Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and helped bring together a vibrant active community of people who were able to do some amazing things together.

In 2004, I founded the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival to bring a world-class music event to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, to generate tourism and to raise funds for arts and culture initiatives in our community. The festival has grown in size and prestige every year, from a small community festival into a renowned world-class event, and in its goals, it has been tremendously successful.

We generate tourism, we make a significant economic impact on the destination, we create cultural exchange, and over the past 12 years we have exposed an entire generation of Zihuatanejo school children to international musicians they would never have had a chance to see otherwise. I hope the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival can be an inspiration for other cities.

Contact me if you would like to create high quality tourism generating events that support arts and cultural initiatives, and help create dynamic and engaged communities.
