Hi everyone, my name is Catherine Lindsay. I live with my husband Chris, our 3 children (Frances 21, James 19, & Nicholas 17), our 4 year old dog Milo, and my daughter's "service-dog-in-training" Naney. I am coming to grips with the fact that this is probably the last summer we will all be living together as a family. My daughter is going into 4th year university and it is her plan to travel after graduation next year so she most likely won't be returning home.

I love to read, even though I really only have time for it in July and August and I am the ultimate sports fan. I love to watch most sports even though I never played them growing up.

I am super excited now that summer is here as we have a cottage and I can't wait to get up there for a good long stretch. Covid with all its negatives, brought me some new experiences as we started using our cottage throughout the entire winter. We spent New Year's Eve up at the cottage for the first time every. It was amazing to welcome in 2021 under the stars by the fire. I can't wait to celebrate Canada Day on the dock tomorrow.

I have worked for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board since 2004. My current role is the Department Head of Canadian and World Studies. I love teaching Civics and Grade 12 Law and Challenge & Change in Society. There is so much going on in the world today that I love sharing my passion with my students. My goal is to get them to see how much of a role each of us plays in society and that we all have a voice that deserves to be heard.

Our school has a regional ASD program so I have had the privilege of having students with communication needs in my classroom. I am super excited to use this course to expand on my breadth of knowledge when it comes to teaching students with communication needs as my only foray into special education has been Spec Ed part 1.

I can't wait to work and learn with all of you in the coming weeks!
