Catherine North Studios

Catherine North Studios has been around since 2000. It was owned by Dan Achen, and is now operated by his good friends Duke Foster and Michael Chambers.

Tracking Room • The tracking room is an open concept church space that is fantastic for live off the floor tracking captured live with isolation. This enables great live performances while capturing the drums at their best and deciding what other instruments to re-track later, if any. Equipment includes vintage Neumann, Neve, API, Universal Audio with Pro Tools. We also have a MCI 500 C series console with an MCI JH-24 two inch 24 track tape machine for the pure analog experience.

Mixing Room • The lower floor studio has a Pro Tools HD and a Control 24 console. This room is for mixing, editing and post production.

THE PEOPLE

Duke Foster • Duke has the uncanny ability to know where the perfect wifi connection is — anywhere on earth. Apple has asked to do an MRI to see if this power is transferable to an iPhone.

Michael Chambers • Michael can recite every 90’s indie band that has had coffee at Queen & Bathurst. His tofu stew is second to none!

Tristan Miller • Tristan began soldering at the age of 14. Now the lead-fumes from his work are starting to affect his appetite. He’s developed a terrible addiction to cookies from Sobey’s.

Dan Hosh • Despite being the worst cook in Canada, Dan has perfected the art of brewing the most delicious pot of coffee ever.

Marcone • In the years after leaving Gotham City, Marcone spent his time keeping the studios of the world safe from sub-par sushi. Now in the Gotham-like city of Hamilton, Catherine North is his home.

Patrick Sirrs • Patrick understands the important nuances of any session, whether it be swapping out for a fresh hard-drive or pouring the perfect pint, he knows how to keeps things flowing.

Jordan Mitchell • Jordan enjoys coffee, guitar pedals and comparing things to the Beach Boys.

Kathleen Farley • Kathleen is our resident web geek, stray cat rescuer, and keeper-of-the-petty-cashbox. Chances are she has a fresh pot of vegetarian chili on the stove right now.
