Catherine Shiang (Asia Capital)

Serving as managing director with Asia Capital, Catherine Shiang guides a single family office that has locations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, and London. Emphasizing portfolio interests employing the firm’s own capital, Catherine Shiang also guides the formation of investment partnerships and groups. A unique aspect of her approach is deal flow that largely comes through referrals from other families, with projects undertaken that are "off market” and proprietary in nature.

Corporate social responsibility is an important aspect of all transactions undertaken, with all deals vetted for community impact. With investment horizons dependent upon a variety of factors, the family office maintains a significant risk tolerance and has taken positions in early stage companies and emerging markets.

Ms. Shiang is well respected in her field and sat on a pair of panels at the Family Business Summit in Dubai on technology deals and co-investments. A founding member of the Asia Alumni Advisory Board at the Georgetown University Law Center, she also serves on the board of her alma mater’s Corporate Counsel Institute.
