As the Project Manager within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Leadership Development Office. I synchronize the operations of the Wallace Grant and build capacity for leaders to reach their professional learning goals. I was a facilitator of professional development at Carmel Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina-a CMS school. Prior to this I was a staff development teacher, math staff development teacher, and an instructional technology teacher within Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville Maryland, where I evaluated data to facilitate professional development for staff on the implications of equitable instructional and/or teaching strategies used to reach all learners. My previous classroom experience includes teaching grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. These opportunities enabled me to support professional development opportunities to build a professional learning community with shared leadership for the continuous improvement of instruction.
My first career was in the social service field. I worked for Family Crisis Center, Inc. of Prince George’s County & ASCA (Akron Summit Community Action) agency where I supervised and coordinated the strategic actions of a region (24 zip codes) to increase self-sufficiency while advocating for a poverty free community. Additionally, I completed a principal internship within Montgomery County Public Schools. I hold my Master of Science in Administration and Supervision degree from Trinity University in Washington, DC. & a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in Individual Family Studies & Gerontology.
As a Leader I display and promote collaborative moves to ensure that all students regardless of ethnicity or economic status, gain knowledge and increase proficiencies that will enable them to become lifelong learners while preparing them to excel in a technologically driven society.
