Cathy Collett is a civil servant, researcher and policy analyst. A reformed academic who completed her doctoral student studies at McMaster University before withdrawing in good standing, ABD. She has a strong track record of obtaining and maintaining Canada's prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grants both at the Masters and PhD level.

As a civil servant, she has rapidly risen from part time Legislative Support in the municipal Clerk's Office to a full time Council Constituency Coordinator. In that role, Cathy works to collect and analyze information and presents findings on complex issues, making recommendations and generally supporting the work of elected municipal Councillors.

She is married and the proud mother of two young children.
