My purpose of this blog is to keep friends, family and anyone else who is interested in our adventure to Panama.
In December 2013 Rob and I decided to move from Juneau, Alaska to Central America. Both of us are long time “Juneauites” and we had enough of the cold and slop—time to leave. My daughter’s fiancé is from Nicaragua and has family in Managua. We considered moving there until we realized our level of Spanish isn’t quite up to a preschooler. This led our search to a larger ex-pat community where we would have some back up to Spanish. Basically a safety net. Thus we are headed to Boquete, Panama.
We sold, forced our children to take back their stuff we were keeping and gave away what we couldn’t get rid of.
We have 4 checked suitcases totaling 200 lbs, our carry on luggage and our dog Cody.
We have rented a casita for a year and are off to see what this part of the world holds!
