Catrin Kemp
Writer, founder, and creative producer in Glasgow, UK
HELLO! I’m Catrin Kemp.
I am an award-winning educator, writer and performer based in Glasgow UK.
I founded and am the director of two programmes: The New Mothers' Writing Circle and Let's Make _ Together, both of which are centred around creative personal development, with accountability, cheerleading, community and vulnerability at heart.
My work is about bringing people face-to-face with their creative selves, their inner voice, the stories they want to tell. I believe amazing things happen when people work on their own projects whilst in community with others, “held” if you like, within the boundaries of a container.
I have been featured across BBC and by Creative Scotland - you can see and hear me speak about why and how I work here.
I am the recipient of a Highly Commended place on 2025's Emerging Writer Award by Scotland's Centre for Creative Writing, Moniack Mhor. I am currently working on my debut collection of short stories.
My writing intersects matrescence, identity, grief and midlife, aiming to give voice to modern-day interior experiences seen through a darkly comic female lens.
My short fiction and poetry have been published by Speculative Books and Motherlore Magazine and I regularly perform my work to audiences in Glasgow, including at comedy night Teenage Me… OMG!I am also a huge music fan and this year have been learning to DJ.
I will continue to work with people the world over, supporting them as they lean on life-changing creative practices, whilst building my own practice as a writer.
