So every person I ask about this trip wants to know why we are doing it. Well there's a few reasons really. I have always been a kid that loves to go outside and I was always knee-deep in a creek or running around in the woods. When I was 13 I first met a thru-hiker on the AT and I was inspired from that day. I've done some college now, but I really don't know what I want to do. So I decided that now was the time for this walk. Not in a few years, not when I retire, but NOW. This trip is going to help us (my girlfriend is in the same predicament) really find ourselves. The people we meet, the experiences we will have, and the memories we will create are going to help guide us in the right direction for our lives. Most people that do walks like this are doing it for some sort of charity, but we are doing this to help ourselves so that we may better help others. I think that just about sums it up.
