Work out with me

I trained as both a lawyer and a technologist. Some days I wish I was really a lawyer, but most days I don't; working in technology is rather good fun.

I'm excited about the potential of technology to make the world a better place and I'm doing my damnedest to help people to harness that potential and put it into action. I'm the DX Lead at Microsoft in New Zealand, have been involved in a few start-up businesses and currently sit on the board of our local Economic Development and Tourism Agency.

My team describe me as "post-technical", which as far as I can tell, is not a term of endearment. But, I'm a dab hand with C#, the Azure cloud, and IoT as well as machine learning in general and R in particular.

In my free time I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, climbing and other dangerous and hedonistic outdoor activities. I am a qualified heli-ski guide.

Always keen for dinner, lunch, breakfast, bike rides, heli drops in remote mountain wilderness locations, fishing trips masquerading as work meetings and other interesting contexts in which to have conversations about work and the wonderful world we live in.

I also recycle.
