José is a Costa Rican graphics designer and entrepreneur. He graduated with honours from High School in 2005 and obtained the third highest admission grade for ITCR, one of the major Technology Universities in Central America.
He started working as an Intel Technical Support representative that very same year, where he obtained extensive experience with hardware and software support over the course of 6 years.During that period, he also directed 3D Short Film Loopio and started his major on 3D Animation, in Veritas University, Costa Rica.
In 2011, José founded Saborstudio, a creative content startup. Their first project: an iOS game called Pota-Toss was a Kickstarter-funded project, released to the App Store on October 2012. It has released outstanding reviews, being deemed in Techcrunch and CNN as "The Next Angry Birds" and having its graphics compared to a Pixar movie by Business Insider.
In 2012, Saborstudio was the first Costa Rican startup to be selected for a major US Incubator. The team was part of the Summer 2012 DreamIt Ventures program in New York City, and graduated in August as one of the most promising startups of its class.
In November 2012 José was selected as one of the 40 most important Costa Rican innovators of the year by El Financiero Newspaper; and was also named an Innovation Champion by the Costa Rican Ministry of Science and Technology. José was also selected to speak at the 2013 TEDx Joven PuraVida Conference in San José, Costa Rica.
By mid-2013, José led a new Saborstudio startup called Slidebean. Slidebean was selected to be part of Startup Chile, one of the most important accelerators in Latin America.
