Welcome, my name is Esteban, all my life I have worked as an insurance adjuster. He is the person who is in charge of managing the procedures when a loss of an insured property occurs, from the beginning to the closing of the file. Therefore, he carries out the necessary procedures with the insurance companies and the people involved for the administrative management of the claim, the control, the follow-up and the closing, making sure that the levels agreed with the clients are fulfilled; however, depending on the training level and the experience, the administrative functions can be extended to other advisory functions. Furthermore, it must be taken into account that the characteristics of the claims are different according to the insured object (transport of goods, cars, boats, motorcycles, home, etc.), which requires specific knowledge in each specific insurance field. Claims handlers are usually divided between car handlers and various other handlers (covering accidents of all kinds, such as death, home accidents, employer's liability, etc). Within the car processors a distinction is made between material processors and personnel processors (which are the ones who handle the claims with the injured, which is where the money goes to the companies). At the same time, personnel processors are usually divided between dry processors and inspectors, which is a hierarchical rank superior to the former.
