Cheryl Bernardi

Hi I'm Cheryl Bernardi and I live in South Carolina where I teach French in a local high school. As everyone knows, teachers are never just teachers. Our list of jobs, accomplishments and duties is never-ending. Check out the things that I have been doing over the last 10 years:

I have created our district's French curriculum and will continue to update in order to constantly keep it relevant to our students' lives.

I offer tutoring before and after school for all of my students, and often spend planning periods and lunch hours working with students or just giving them a place to discuss concerns about school, friends and other issues.

I have sponsored the French Honor Society for students who have a special interest in French and French related issues.

I spent 3 years as our World Language Department Curriculum leader and Chair.

All teachers spend time updating their skills. Along with the technology courses that I have taken over the years, I have also spent summers in Quebec increasing all of my skills regarding French, not only for myself, personally, but also for my students and for my school.

I have been chosen by 7 different honor roll students as their "inspirational teacher". Honestly, all teachers use their parenting skills as often as their pedagogical skills when it comes to helping our students.
