Colette Cassinelli
Hello World. My name is Colette Cassinelli and I am a high school Librarian & New Media teacher at a private Catholic high school near Portland, Oregon. I have over 20 years of teaching experiences in grades K-12. In July of 2007, I completed my Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology at Pepperdine University.
My passion is learning new things. I love to read, travel, listen to music and talk! I share my wonderful life with my husband and two sons. I am always on the lookout for great web resources and teaching ideas to use in my high school information literacy or computers class or to share with my faculty during professional development workshops. I am a Google Certified teacher and have presented at several conferences including ITSC, NCCE, NCEA, and ISTE.
I began a collaborative wiki about how educators are using VoiceThread in their classroom at: http://voicethread4education.wikispaces.com. Please visit the wiki and add your samples. My Google Apps for Education workshop information is located at http://sites.google.com/site/colettecassinelli/. My “What is a PLN and Why do I need one presentation and website” is located at: https://sites.google.com/site/edtechpln/.
During my very first blog post, titled “Seeking the Answer” I share: One of my favorite quotes is “We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself ” (Lloyd Alexander). This blog represents my vision and quest for NOT discovering the answer – but probing the questions about the power of educational technology which hopefully will lead to newer and more fascinating questions to ponder.
I use my blog at http://www.edtechvision.org to share what I am doing in my classroom, to share new tools or projects that I am involved in or just reflect on my own learning. This is my self-discovery and I look forward to sharing it with you and learning from you along the way.
