Charlie Chacko
Mechanical Engineer in Orange, Connecticut
Hi, I'm Charlie and you've found my about.me page I set up for my MBA course MBA 650: Reputation Management.
I grew up about 30 minutes south of Pittsburgh in a small region known as the Mon Valley. I received my B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State in 2006 and 2008, respectively. I anticipate completing my MBA from Quinnipiac in the Spring of 2017.
Since graduation in 2008, I have held several jobs in several locations. I started with Sensata Technologies in Attleboro, MA designing automotive sensors. My wife and I then moved to Pittsburgh where I worked for Mine Safety Appliances (MSA), designing portable gas detectors. After about 3 years there, we moved to Connecticut where I was an engineer and R&D Technical Lead for Philips Healthcare's line of carbon dioxide medical sensors. I recently took a position as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at PerkinElmer, specifically within the Material Characterization group specializing in R&D of their molecular spectroscopy instruments.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling. My wife and I try to go on one large trip a year. 2017 will take us to Greece. While back in the U.S., my wife and I like to watch sports, go to the gym, and hike with our yellow Lab, Butters.
