Chelsea Dye
Student in Idaho
My name is Chelsea, I'm a horse-a-holic and I am studying Rangeland Ecology and Management at the University of Idaho!
I am very passionate about my degree choice and all the classes I am taking, but what really gives me peace are horses.
I don't just love horses, I am addicted to their presence and the results of quality horsemanship.
Through the years, I have found that horses have the most beautiful souls, forgiving hearts, and are the best teachers and friends you could ever meet. And because I believe these things, I took a strong liking to the teachings of Bill and Tom Dorrance, as well as Ray Hunt, Martin Black, and Buck Brannaman.
Buck once said that "Quality horsemanship will make you better in areas that you didn’t think related to horses.” And boy is he right. Horses are great role models, I know they have influenced how I live my life tremendously. They are just peaceful souls, that accept, forgive, take care of any issues they have right away and, most importantly, enjoy life.
And that's why I decided to start this blog. To share a handful of lessons the horse has taught me that I think are very important for all of us to remember. I think horses, or any animal in general, have this life thing figured out.
It's amazing what the horse has to say about life if we could just take a moment and listen.
I am very grateful for the horseman that have come into my life through the years and I will forever cherish the time I have had with each of them. And all the pretty cool horses I spent time on. I'm excited to continue traveling through this life that was designed for me, and blessed to have the horse as my mentor.
