Chipata District Land Alliance

Chipata District Land Alliance is a network of organization advocating for fair land policies that take into account the interests of the poor in Chipata and surrounding districts. The organization was established to coordinate the efforts of members and decentralises the presence at the grassroots for more interaction with community members and enhance advocacy work at that level; in order to promote land tenure and food security among the vulnerable people .

Chipata is one of the Seven Districts in the Country where Zambia Land Alliance established District Land Alliances. In Chipata, the DLA was launched in June 2006 and it is a branch of Zambia Land Alliance based in Lusaka. The organisation is legally registered as nongovernmental organisation.

Vision Statement
“A Chipata and surrounding districts in which people, especially the poor and marginalized have access to, ownership, control and security of tenure of land for sustainable development”

Mission Statement
To Promote Just and Secured Land Ownership as well as Sustainable Land Use for people in Chipata and surrounding districts through advocacy, networking, research and partnerships.
