Christopher Marks

My name is Chris Marks and I am Sport Management major in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The most important thing to know about me is that I love sports. Not just playing or even watching sports, which I do enjoy very much, but the whole business and culture around sport. The ideal job for me would be that of a sports agent. This would combine the business side of sports with the player side of the industry. I have always been very intrigued by the job of agents because even though they do not directly affect games, they do have and affect on sports. An agent can move a star player from one team to another, and really change the landscape of a sport. This is something that I have always have been interested in, and my passion for sports has only increased in the time that I have been in the time that I have been in the sport management program in Isenberg.
On my way to becoming a sports agent, I plan on going to law school. Becoming a lawyer is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time, even before I knew I wanted to work in the sports industry. A profession in sport that also allows me to be a lawyer seemed like a perfect career for me to pursue. I enjoy working hard, problem solving, and debating which are all things that I am going to need if I want to be successful. I greatly look forward to the years ahead of me while I work toward achieving my dream career.
