My name is Cecil Douglas Rowlett Jr. My close friends call me Mr. Tragedy and I am fine with this. This is my story.
When I was young and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always the same: "Business Owner." I wanted to grow up like my dad and be an Entrepreneur, even though at that time I didn’t know what that was. I loved all things business and loved working for the many family businesses my family started. My side passion was writing and I wrote my first story in second grade.
I grew up like most children until age 14 when I lost my mom to Cancer. At age 24, I co-founded my first business with a family member in February 2000 and that business was destroyed November 24, 2001 by a fire. At age 26, I lost my first wife, my angel on December 28, 2001. At age 35, my second wife decided that she no longer loved me after 5 years of marriage. On August 22, 2013, at age 36, I buried my mentor and father.
This is a short history of my life and this is why my closest friends call me Mr. Tragedy. I am fine with that label because I believe that out of tragedies, great triumphs grow. My motto is you never give up no matter what you are facing. I embrace my title because my tragedies have allowed me to rekindle my love of writing and that may just be my greatest triumph. Follow my writings and my story, because I have a lot more to say.
