Cecile Green

Queen Cecile Frances Green is the daughter of Drs. Alan and Winifred Green. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley N. Butler, Jr. and the late Arthur and Anne Green of Mobile, Alabama. Queen Cecile has one sibling, Alan Wilson Green of West Bloomfield, Michigan.

The Queen was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and she is a 2007 graduate of Walled Lake Western High School (Walled Lake, Michigan). She served as President of the African American Awareness Club, and was involved in student government. She was an active member of the pom’s dance team at Walled Lake Western High School.

Queen Cecile considers Mobile to be her second home. Much of her childhood was spent in the Port City. She was christened at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Mobile when she was an infant. One of her fondest memories of Mardi Gras is being the crown bearer to Queen Hunteria Nelson in 1999.

Her Majesty’s involvement in community service also started at an early age. Her Royal Highness plans making community service a part of her reign as this year’s MAMGA Queen. She will be organizing a recycling campaign - GO GREEN WITH MAMGA in affiliation with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.

Queen Cecile attended Hampton University’s pre-college program in the summer of 2006, where she earned college credits as a rising senior in high school. Cecile was awarded the 1st runner up in cash contributions as a 2007 debutante with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., of Pontiac, Michigan.

Her Majesty is a 2011 graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications, a Public Relations major with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications. A Marching Pirate, Queen Cecile is a former member of Hampton’s Ebony Fire Dance Team.While enrolled at her “home by the sea”, her Majesty was an Earl Caldwell Journalism Fellow, participated in the Public Relations Student and Michigan Pre-Alumni organizations.

Cecile is currently employed as a Sales Associate with Knoll, Inc. of Washington, D.C. The Queen also has spent time as an intern on Capitol Hill working with Representative Gary Peters from her home state of Michigan. She has recently begun persuing LEED accreditation, enjoys cooking and practicing Bikram yoga.
