Artist
i was born in Lima Perú , where I have always lived. My house and studio are six blocks from the Pacific Ocean, the ocean is very important for me and my work. We do not have extreme temperatures in Lima and eventhough half of the year we have a grey sky, there are flowers in the parks and buganvillias over the walls all year round. My work is abstract. I also do some surrealism in my collages and wooden cubes, in which I mix painting and collage. Painting is for me a way to enjoy colour and compositions I make always have a start in nature, mostly flowers, skyes or the ocean. The series “Reflections” is inspired on duality. We live in a world of polarities: cold-hot, up-down, strong-weak. My art precedes the concept, enjoying the process and playing with colours and forms is the goal. I consider myself heir of Matisse, Cezanne, Miro and their "painting for pleasure". I also admire the german expresionism, and Klee and Klimt are dear to me.
