Cecily Carver

Seattle, Washington, United States

I'm a software engineer at Google in Seattle, working specifically on directions and navigation in the Google Maps app for Android.

I'm also one of the founders of Dames Making Games Toronto, an organization dedicated to supporting women interested in making, playing, and changing games. Between 2012 and 2014 I co-ran most of DMG's programs with Jennie Faber, and I still serve on the board. I've spoken about Dames Making Games at conferences including IndieCade and IndieCade East, GRAND, DigiFest, FanExpo, Vector Game Art Festival, and Feminists in Games.

Things I Wish Someone had Told Me When I Was Learning How to Code.

Other things I've done with my life include digital marketing for the Canadian Opera Company and Against the Grain Theatre, making small video games, and seeing lots of opera.
