Celeste Cronrath
I pop between NC and FL
What to say first? Well, my name is Celeste Cronrath. I’m an illustrator, currently living in North Carolina. I graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2009, with a BFA in Studio Art (illustration concentration).
I mark the day I became an artist, as the first day of my Walt Disney World College Program internship (way back in 2002). Like most kids, I was drawing from an early age. I was even somewhat of a coloring contest prodigy, winning several national contests starting at 4 years old. Despite this, I never had serious artistic ambitions until I started my job at the Magic of Disney Animation. Seeing real artists at work every day, I instantly knew that I had to be a part of that world.
Five years later, I was able to intern behind the glass, this time as an actual Disney artist. My internship was spent working for Disney Design Group. I designed merchandise, illustrations and graphics for the Disney parks, focusing on Hong Kong Disneyland. I’ve also done freelance work for a small selection of clients, but in general my career is just beginning.
As you can tell, I love Disney, but that’s not all! I also maintain unhealthy obsessions with optimistic retro futurism, British and Canadian comedy, certain sci-fi and fantasy franchises, theme parks, roadside attractions, all types of film, and other things that make up a stereotypical nerd.
If you like my work, and are in need of an artist, please don’t hesitate to email me!
