Hello!
My name is Celeste Villanueva and I am 19 years old. Currently jumping from coast to coast between my newest home Toronto, and my forever home Vancouver, I find myself on the verge of an exciting and fulfilling journey to enrichment in all forms at Ryerson University. Specializing my program within the fields of Media Business and Fashion, I hope to someday work within Social Media Branding/Relations for a renowned fashion or magazine company like Teen Vogue; enabling me to work for and learn from the best in the industry.
My favourite vessels of expression to use and explore are photography, writing, fashion and music - although the only time you’ll ever catch me singing out loud is in the shower. My love of photography definitely stems from my father who is a photographer, and with him being the major influence in my life that he is, I’ve come to appreciate and value the way that photography truly is an art form; requiring an eye for finding beauty in even the simplest of things. As for writing, English has always been a love of mine. Over the years, through school and my own accord, I’ve constantly been wrestling with the creation of finding my own voice; but it’s through writing that I’ve been able to find out parts of myself that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Fashion intrigues me because it is a form of artistic expression like no other. It’s a visual extension of yourself and your interests that others get to witness - without you even having to speak. Visually, it communicates a lot in such varying, fascinating and interesting ways, and that’s what makes it so powerful.
Always ready with an eagerness and willingness to learn, the ability to learn and grow both personally and professionally is what I consider most important in my life; alongside my faith as a Catholic. I will continue to foster my love for creativity and growth at all points in my life no matter what stage or career I find myself at, and I think that mindset is the recipe for success.
I don't know where this road at Ryerson or the road after it will take me, but I've often been told that greatness is achieved through a little faith/trust in yourself, and the determination and belief that success is not an 'if' but a ‘when’. So, with that being said, I look forward to working hard at bettering myself in order to see that ‘when’ become my ‘now’; and I’d be more than thrilled if you decided to follow me on my journey.
