Cem Akça, Ph.D.
Professor in Istanbul, Turkey
Professor Akça was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He received BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1999, 2002 and 2006, respectively.
He then did a post-doctoral fellowship in materials science at Czech Technical University in Prague. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Instituto Politécnico de Leiria as a visiting professor.
His current research focuses on biomaterials, materials for defense industry and artificial intelligence. Currently, he is occupied in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering as an associate professor (and vice-chair of the Department) and he is one of the Mendeley Advisors in Turkey.
He teaches Materials Science, Project Management, Entrepreneurship (graduate), Biopolymers (graduate), Biomedical Materials and Principles of Engineering Design.
