Cem Turetken

I’m Cem Turetken, a Toronto-based mechanical engineer, business consultant, guitarist, musician, and writer. My background in engineering and business strategy allows me to combine technical thinking with creative pursuits across music, media, and storytelling.

Outside my professional work, I’m deeply involved in the music scene as a guitarist and independent musician. My influences include post-punk, psychedelic rock, and blues. I also actively promote and support emerging Canadian rock and blues bands, helping bring greater visibility to local talent.

I am also highly involved in AI-driven music creation, exploring how artificial intelligence can be used as a creative tool for composing, producing, and experimenting with new musical styles and sounds.

In addition, I am the creator and owner of Hamilton Files, a TikTok-based local news platform that covers crime reports, breaking news, and community stories from Hamilton, Toronto, and surrounding areas.

Beyond music and media, I write short post-punk science-fiction stories that explore dystopian themes, technology, and the human condition. My writing often blends speculative ideas with gritty urban imagery.

Living in Toronto, I continue to connect engineering, music, journalism, artificial intelligence, and storytelling while contributing to the local cultural and creative community.
