The creation of the Center for Education for Sustainability (CES) of the Benemérita Escuela Normal Veracruzana "Enrique C. Rébsamen", arises from the need to address aspects of training that are not attended to in a rigorous and systematic manner that require urgent attention, due to the deepening of large contextual problems generated from the predominant socioeconomic model. So far, education has not responded meaningfully to current reality and much less to the uncertain future that it holds for future generations, subject to little relevant training processes. We could say that we live in the 21st century and education is still anchored in the 19th century.
