Chantale Forcier

I am currently a Grade 4 French Immersion teacher at École St. Thomas. I am passionate about the French Language as well as incorporating the use of technology in my teaching practice.

I have been a tech coach for the LRCSSD #89 and École St. Thomas for 4 years. Some of the tasks for this position include:

• Assiting and leading Professional Development sessions with staff members throughout the school division during the administration days in August
• Helping teachers with their SMARTboard set up before students arrive in the fall
• Troubleshoot with colleagues when there were technology issues
• Assist and help lead sessions for the Tech Bootcamp for March Professional Development
• Achieved SMART Educator status
• Test and demonstrate new technology in my classroom

I have been a Professional Learning Community (PLC) Team leader for 4 years. This task includes:

• Setting and sending meeting agendas
• Taking meeting notes
• Leading the PLC Team meetings
• Working closely with my team members in order to enhance our French Immersion curriculum to improve student learning.
• Analyzing student data to ensure students are achieving at LRCSSD standards

I have coached a variety of different sports at École St. Thomas. I enjoy helping the children learn new skills and sports. I have coached Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, and Track and Field. These sports required a great number of hours outside of the school day to ensure the students had ample opportunity to increase their self-confidence as athletes and as members of a team.
