Caterina Francisca

Originally from Perosa Canavese, Italy, Caterina Francisca moved to New York City in 2011 to study Design Criticism at the School of Visual Arts, after studying Interior Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (European Institute of Design), IED, of Turin, Italy. While interning for the architect and assistant professor Eduardo Benamor Duarte she took part in the Wanted Design 2012 New York event. Her paper Skin was awarded Student Notable in the section “Writing and Commentary” for the 2013 Core77 design awards. Caterina was research intern for Domus Design School Guide 2012. In 2013 she presented, with Sandra Nuut, the paper The Design Evolution of the Generic and Adaptable Body in Steven Meisel’s and Steven Klein’s Fashion Photography at the Critique 2013 conference, University of South Australia, Adelaide. She is interested in the diversity of how visual and material projects have an impact on the audience. Caterina is currently researching design works that concern critical implications on science, technology and society; and she is also proceeding in her career in design. Caterina is currently working for WantedDesign.
