Cole Gilliam
Lubbock, TX
Hello, I’m Cole Gilliam and I’m currently an undergraduate student in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. I’m a Business/Finance Major looking to further my education upon graduation by attending Law School. To get you more familiarized with the type of person I am, I’ll start by saying that I’m a hard worker. I have too many goals and too much desire in accomplishing at least something every day, to warrant taking off as an option just because I might be tired. I don’t believe in quitting anything- it just puts you further behind. When those times get too hard I just keep moving forward with the intent that my efforts are going to pay off.
As there are still many job interests that I’ve discovered within my field of study, one of the long time desires of mine has been in the market of law. I’ve even abridged my scope of options specifically to Criminal Law, while openly specializing as either a Defense lawyer or a Prosecuting attorney.
There have been numerous subjects I’ve taken so far throughout college, that have strongly applied to the area that I hope to profess in some day. These include ‘University Level’ Government and Political Science, English, Business Administration, and Speech. From a general perspective, these subjects have helped me understand and better prepared me for the nature and environment of Law. They have also helped mold my writing skills, speaking skills, and gain a better grasp on our country’s legal environment. However, all of this is not to take away from the knowledge I’ve gained through the coursework of my upper level business classes, or the experience I’ve had with them.
To build onto my university relatable studies, I’ve already gained some of the more recognizable skills from past work experiences, which I believe has prepared me for the future. As a law office assistant, I got some insight performing a range of clerical duties, and in my span of working at a grocery store for three years, I’ve broadened my communication and accounting skills. I can relate to clientele now on two important levels. In a professional manner for when the situation calls for it, but at the same time relate to tasks in a customer service kind of way.
After all, isn’t it worth taking a chance on someone who you believe is going to dedicate themselves to their work no matter what it be? If who I am takes your interest, would it be possible to connect with me or reach out to my page in order
