I am an aspiring gastronomic adventurer in search of interesting cuisines. I have been cooking ever since I could reach the stove, and have been in search of new skills and recipes to add to my repertoire ever since.
Whenever I travel, I pick up on some of my favorite flavors and dishes so I can try to create my own version of them when I return home. My latest project has been trying to develop recipe for the lamb stew that I tasted while hiking in Patagonia with a group in 2013 (pictured). I had never had something as hearty or comforting since that meal hiking with the group.
I am by no means an expert chef. Nonetheless cooking and food has a huge place in my heart since it has been the primary way that I have been able to bond with my distant family in China.
Looking back upon memories of visits to my family, I remember how we always spent at least an hour if not three at the table every day for lunch. Aunts, uncles, and cousins would come back from work and school just to eat and talk together. Those were always the best memories that we shared together. Every time I visit I come back home inspired to make some more memories by cooking more.
