After a short, injury filled football career, he focused on his academics earning a Bachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a minor in Geography. He went on to graduate school at the University of Southern California (fight on!) and received a Fellowship for Economic Development. He earned his Master of Planning and Public Administration in 1996. Chad had the opportunity to travel with the Dean to China and Vietnam and prepare economic development plans for the expansion of Hanoi and revitalization planfor Guangzhou, China. It was during his travels that he became interested in infrastructure programs and noticed the growing demand for cellular and wireless communications. In the fall 1996, Chad started his own consulting firm that worked exclusively with the acquisition, entitlement and construction of cellular, PCS and digital communication network sites. He sold the company in 1999 and began work on his next venture, gas stations. He built a small company that owned several gas stations. While a gas station owner, Chad’s interest in finance led him to the banking industry, where he spent two years as a vice president of a small bank. It was at this time, Chad suffered an injury that would change his life. A simple ankle reconstruction surgery went horribly wrong and nearly cost him his life. It was during his rehabilitation that he decided to change his life and go into education. Chad was an Earth Science and Oceanography teacher at Baldwin Park High School and Fullerton High School before landing back at his Alma Mater, Tustin High. Chad returned to Tustin as an Earth Science teacher and ASB advisor. Chad coached Football, Basketball and Track. In 2007-2008, Chad became the Assistant Principal at Tustin High and has served in the Discipline office, Facilities office and as the Curriculum and Instruction AP.
