Chalyn Smith is a Structured Learning Teacher with Regina Public Schools. Chalyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Regina. She then went on to earn a Bachelors of Education After Degree in Indigenous Education from the First Nations University of Canada, where she graduated with honors.

As of late, Chalyn has enjoyed her return to the role of student as she continues her studies for a Masters of Educational Curriculum and Instruction with the University of Regina. She believe that her years working with behavioral inner city students have thoroughly enriched her time in the classroom as a learner.

When she is not buried in a pile of planning or reading, Chalyn enjoys relaxing and staying fit by doing kickboxing. She loves spending time with her fiancée and his two girls and their dog Kodah.
