As developers, there's a good chance that you have your own website. After all, it's what we do, and you've probably built this many times before. Because we all know that we need to rebuild our website before we can finish that blog post we've been meaning to write...
I'm just as much to blame as the next developer, but I don't feel bad about it. We use the process of rebuilding our website to learn new things and try out new ideas or designs. But if you ever think, "I just want a simple website so I can write," there is a way to get what you want. Jigsaw is a static site generator made by Laravel partners Tighten. I've been using it to make my personal website for the last year or so.
The great thing about it is that I can write my blog posts in markdown, it has a simple blade view to show pages and posts, and it can be built to run on GitHub Pages, Netlify, and other services.
