From common threads in movies or stories to making introductions, I love to create connections. In 5th grade, I was the only person in my class to see a mystery a different way. Now I teach college students how to strike up conversations with strangers.

I build connections between job seekers and employers and help people articulate how they are the right fit for an opportunity. I've worked in some capacity of workforce development and HR since my first job - when I learned rocket scientists had the same career questions as English majors. I've worked as a career advisor, a recruiter, and a freelance writer. I am a certified Professional Resume Writer(PARW) and Career Management Coach (CCMC).

In my first job, I worked in professional development and learned that it is always up to me to innovate and stay on top of my field. Each year I try something new. Recent highlights:

2008: Started private practice, and led grassroots NYC MeetUp job search group.
2009: Resume Specialist and author for Microsoft Office Live campaign. Studied storytelling through Narativ.
2010: Co-wrote Twitter Job Search Guide with Deb Dib and Susan Whitcomb (JIST)
2011: Left NYC Job Seekers Meet-Up and New York to launch StartWire. (First Community Manager and blog contributor until 2013)
2012: Discussion manager for Work Coach Cafe.
2013: Helped research and write public policy book on Workforce Development
2014: Learned how recruiters scout for job applicants through AIRS trainings(certified in techniques for recruiting and social sourcing); began writing for Answers.com
2015: Served as lead writer for Jobs section of Answers.com
2016: Pursued interest in patient advocacy through short-course in Narrative Medicine. Renewed AIRS certifications with continuing education and completed Narativ short course refresher 2017: Completed Stanford University D-School’s first “Train the Trainer” program in Life Design (based on NY Times bestseller Designing Your Life)
2018: Started Master’s degree program at Dartmouth College (Master of Arts in Liberal Studies) with a focus in Creative Writing and Narrative Non-Fiction

I currently work as

• A career advisor at Dartmouth College
• Entry-level columnist for Job-Hunt.org
• A freelance writer, career coach and webinar presenter

Offline, I knit, write and enjoy storytelling. In addition to professional development topics, I also enjoy historical research, writing narrative non-fiction and podcasts.

I'm always up for conversation and connections, say hi.
