E. Chandlee Bryan

Hanover, NH

From common threads in movies or stories to making introductions, I love creating connections. In 5th grade, I was the only person in my class to see a mystery a different way. Now I teach college students how to strike up conversations with strangers.

I build connections between job seekers and employers, and help people articulate how they are the right fit for an opportunity. I've worked in some capacity of workforce development and HR since my first job - when I learned rocket scientists had the same career questions as English majors. I've worked as a career advisor, a recruiter, and a freelance writer.

I follow a philosophy I learned at 15 through the American Youth Foundation (AYF), "my own self at my very best all the time." In June 2014, I returned to volunteer at an AYF conference I attended in high school. Each year I try something new. Recent highlights:

2008: Started private practice, and led grassroots NYC MeetUp job search group.
2009: Resume Specialist and author for Microsoft Office Live campaign
2010: Co-wrote Twitter Job Search Guide with Deb Dib and Susan Whitcomb (JIST)
2011: Helped launch StartWire. (First Community Manager and blog contributor until 2013)
2012: Discussion manager for Work Coach Cafe.
2013: Helped research and write public policy book on Workforce Development
2014: Learned how recruiters scout for job applicants through AIRS trainings

I currently work as

• An career advisor at Dartmouth College
• Lead writer for Jobs.Answers.com and entry-level columnist for Job-Hunt. org
• A freelance writer and webinar presenter

Offline, I knit, write and tell stories, and recently celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary (the picture is of my armchair diving husband). I'm always up for conversation and connections, say hi.
