Seth Hartshorn

Hi! My name is Seth Hartshorn and I'm currently a freshman student at the University of Georgia studying Risk Management and Insurance. I was born in Dalton, Georgia (the carpet capitol of the world), where I attended Dalton High School and graduated in 2012. Out of high school, I had the options to attend either the University of Georgia or the Georgia Institute of Technology.

After much thought, I finally chose the University of Georgia, as I wanted to either go down the pre-med or pre-business pathway rather than pursue an engineering related field. Upon enrollment, I was an intendened Mathematics major, as I've always enjoyed the subject, but that quickly changed when I took an upper level Math course. I then decided to go into Pre-Business/ Risk Management, as I've always wanted to go into business, and Risk Management is a very Math oriented field, which fits me very well.

This past semester I have been taking mostly business courses and I've loved it! I can honestly say that this is the most fun and exciting time in my life so far, and I can not wait to see what the next three years of UGA has in store for me!
