Manhattan, NY

Hailing from Northeastern PA, I developed an appreciation for the outdoors, as well as Yuengling beer. Here, I spent my youth exploring the outside world through various activities. My favorite amongst the many were fishing in the "crick" under our bridge, bike rides with my older brother, scaling the treacherous mountain behind my childhood home that lead to a maximum security prison (more routinely referred to as a packing plant), conjuring fantastical ideas and engaging in team sports. As I matured, I channeled all of my creative energy into an advertising degree from Penn State. Even though quaint towns can be charming, the downfall of lacking vibrant diversity and eccentric culture encouraged me to change my environment.

Eventually, I packed my belongings to pursue my dreams, and headed to The Big Apple. Having years of experience in working odd jobs, ranging from papergirl to strawberry picker/peach pruner to several years spent in the service industry (most memorably my 4-year stint as a Hooters Girl), I expected to easily find gainful employment upon moving to Manhattan. I spent a few frustrating months coaching youth soccer and serving in a Midtown sports bar, before finally landing my current position in the marketing industry. While momentarily content, I ultimately aspire to be an amazing writer and imagineer.

Although often difficult, NYC is unique and charismatic, beautiful and thrilling. I have the opportunity to fulfill my passion of sports by playing on two coed soccer leagues and flag football team. I jog through Central Park, finding different routes each time, or tread lightly along the picturesque East River in the evening. As a member of the NYRR, I completed my first full Marathon in November! When I'm not running, I traipse the city streets in search of fun adventures or enjoy time with friends trying new eateries and discovering the city's endless possibilities. My interests are: writing witty commentary, idolizing Hope Solo, watching Criminal Minds, cheering on Philly teams, extreme sarcasm, reading creative non-fiction literature, uncovering the mystery of Titanic, befriending adorable animals and laughing. But no matter where I am, I hold dear in my heart the things I left behind in PA, Bentley my beloved German Shepherd, who roams his yard patiently waiting for my return home to take him hiking, cruising the open rural road in my '98 Ford Escort and the luxury of onsite laundry.
