Chandra Taylor

Hi my name is Chandra. I am first and foremost mother of 2 beautiful kids and wife to 1 amazing husband. I am currently co-owner of Dojo Prana alongside my husband, we teach Kung Fu and Yoga to kids and teens.

I was born in the small township of Bundeena in Sydney, then grew up in the lovely little town of Yowie Bay, graduating with my HSC at Port Hacking High. Soon after I relocated to the Gold Coast where I met my husband whilst I was studying Naturopathy and he Acupuncture. I have had a varied work life as a Naturopath, Sports Sales and Marketing, Yoga Teacher, Teacher Aide and now Business Owner.

Dojo Prana has evolved over the years, we started as FunFu after many years of searching for an activity for our Son, we had an incident when he was 4 where I interrupted a man 'chatting' to him in our front yard. This lead me to find somewhere that would teach him self defence skills, but not violent behaviour, this was much harder than I thought. Eventually we pooled our skills and developed a class ourselves - FunFu.

In 2000 I was introduced to the joy of Yoga through a lovely and kind Guru. After a few years she encouraged me to become a qualified teacher which of course I did. I went on to teach many varied students including Rugby League teams, elite sports people, pregnant women and of course kids. After 10 years teaching i succumed as many teachers do, to burn out, this lead to a period of soul searching.

I decided my joy was paramount to my continued success as a yoga teacher and I felt my kids classes had an abundance of that, so it is with these dear little souls that I have decided to focus my energy, and so Budding Yogis was born I currently have classes on the Gold Coast and also teach at various schools. It's a pretty great gig really ;-)
