Chanida Potter

Wearing many hats, Chanida Phaengdara Potter is a Lao American writer, community builder, and social justice advocate. She has a keen love for storytelling and believes in using communication tools (social media, blogging, etc) to drive information-sharing that empowers the most vulnerable and isolated communities.

In 2011, she founded Little Laos on the Prairie, an online magazine journal focused on news, happenings, culture and life.

Born in Vientiane, Laos; Chanida has been a Minnesotan for over 20 years. She has worked 10 years in nonprofits and NGOs on public affairs, community development, and strategic communications. Other than writing, she enjoys cooking and conversations. She has a BA in Global Studies and Communications from University of Minnesota. She has been featured on the Twin Cities Daily Planet, MPR, Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, The Uptake, and Asian American Press. Her interests are in international affairs, social entrepreneurship, community-building, and of course, beautiful Laos.
