Charlene Jackson
St. John's Metropolitan Area, NL
Charlene Jackson originally hails from Heart’s Delight, NL, and has a background in theatre, visual art, writing, information technology, and information science. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Western University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours) and a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
With a background spanning communications, public relations, and the arts, Charlene brings both creative and strategic expertise to her work, combining her extensive experience as a writer with her professional practice. She is currently a Communications Officer with the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council (ArtsNL), where she helps shape the organization’s voice, connect with communities, and champion the province’s artists and arts organizations.
She enjoys video games, reading, having a love/hate relationship with her personal writing projects, complaining about the price of vinyl records (but buying them anyway), and exploring hiking trails with a camera in tow. She’s usually up for anything falling under the genres of horror, science fiction, and fantasy.
Charlene lives in the St. John’s metropolitan area, where she happily caters to the many whims of a clowder of cats.
