I'm a rabid baseball fan as you can probably see. (Even a caveman can figure it out) But seriously, I'm also a Library Science major who got my Masters' degree last year. Now, I'm in training as a Technical Recruiter/Sourcer at Duran HCP in Campbell. I am learning the tricks of the trade as to what Sourcers do. I am appraising resumes, screening qualified candidates via phone or e-mail, finding out more about our clients, discovering numerous technical terms (e.g. Java, Multiple Virtual Storage, etc), and this is only the beginning. To find out how I got to this point, here's my story. At a Job Placement Circle Event in October, Noelle Tardieu, who works at Yahoo!, believed I have a career as a Sourcer because of my MA and rigorous researching capabilities. A sourcer is one who matches resumes with the best candidates for job openings using a wide arrange of web sites and other forms of social media. I first trained with Noelle and Daniel Harris about learning the tricks of Sourcers to get my feet wet. I have also attented three (and counting) Toastmasters seminars to further improve my communication skills, which are crucial for pending Sourcers (or any job, for that matter). Then, they introduced me to James Duran, who is the CEO of Duran HCP. I met with James, and here I am. I continue to strive are go full-circle is my unxepected, yet rewarding career in making the ultimate difference: actually GETTING people full-time employment.
