My 37 COMMANDMENTS
* THOU SHALL

1. Be curious about the universe, our world, and all in it.
2. Question authority, resist bureaucracy, be skeptical.
3. Learn a second language.
4. Visit someplace new and exotic every year. Return to a favorite place every year, and when in Roma do as the Romans do.
5. Be a great kisser
6. Be entrepreneurial.
7. Honor your mother on your birthday.
8. Keep in touch with old friends.
9. Live modestly, conserve energy and water, recycle, and don’t litter.
10. Patronize owner-operated businesses.
11. Read the NY Times regularly.
12. Vote and accept jury duty.
13. Know that the American involvement in Vietnam/Iraq was fundamentally wrong in every way: politically, morally, militarily, and economically.
14. Know that Lee Oswald had little or nothing to do with the murder of JFK.
15. Know that Dubya Bush lost the popular vote in Florida as well as the national popular vote.
16. Look up words that you don’t know in the dictionary. Look up facts and references you don’t understand.
17. Always wear first-rate comfortable shoes and sleep in a comfortable bed. You are generally in one or the other and not having good ones will cause you to suffer (From Grandmother Lucy Pinto).
18. Brush your teeth regularly and use a proxybrush. Take care of your teeth and they will take care of you.
19. Play tennis with a wooden racquet.
20. Always accept made from scratch home baked goods when they are offered.
21. During the course of your life, live in NYC, live in another major world capital, and live in the country
22. Change jobs and careers at least twice
23. Attend Your High School Reunions with enthusiasm
24. Any person, Man or Woman who has the responsibility and control over nuclear weapons should have all the sex they desire, with any consenting adult with no questions asked
25. Disagreement or argument does not mean that you think the other person is stupid or lacking in any way.
26. Always paddle your own canoe!
