Charles Cuttone
Sports Vue Intereactive President/CEO Charles Cuttone is a noted expert in the sports industry, an award winning journalist and web developer and has more than 35 years experience in sports management, marketing and publishing.
An innovator at melding sports and technology, he developed one of the first computerized statistical systems in sports, for the Women's Basketball League in 1979, and later implemented new media technologies utilizing both voice and data for several sports organizations.
In his current role, he oversees the business, technical and editorial operations of Sports Vue's web sites, including serving as Executive Editor of the eight regional sites in the Soccer News Network.
His 2006 article, The Best Goalkeeper You've Never Heard Of, written for PhillySoccer News.com won the National Soccer Coaches Association Writing Award for Best College story. His 2009 article Like A Huge Win: U.S. Emotional Over a Meaningless Draw won the NSCAA Award for best deadline/game story.
In addition, Big Apple Soccer.com has won numerous web design and content awards, including best web site by the Long Island Press Club for 2005. In all, Big Apple Soccer has been honored three of the last four years by the Long Island Press Clubs, and in each of the last three years by the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, including most recently finishing second in the Best web site design category.
He has been a guest on numerous TV and radio shows and has been quoted in such major publications as USA Today, The Boston Globe, the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, the New York Daily News, Crain’s Business Detroit and Advertising Age.
He has appeared as a speaker at the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association Convention and was the featured speaker at The Future of Oneonta luncheon in 1995, discussing the economic benefits of The Soccer Hall of Fame. That speech kicked off the Hall’s campaign to build a new $6 million facility which opened in 2000.
In 2001, he made the closing presentation at the Sports on the Net Summit in Chicago, which also included featured speakers from the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, the PGA Tour and CART. His presentation on Internet Success for Emerging Sports Leagues has been the basis for Sports Vue's client services model.
