Charles Calabrese is a longtime Brooklyn, New York, resident who has worked with MTA Bus Co. since 2006. During his time with MTA Bus Co., Charles Calabrese has held every operational position in a bus depot environment and been tasked with ordering parts for repair, ensuring a positive work flow, and reconciling coolant and fuel quantities. Presently serving as a line supervisor at the Spring Creek Depot, Charles Calabrese oversees a ten-person maintenance staff and is in charge of inspecting and recording defects on as many as six buses per day.
Prior to joining MTA Bus Co., Charles Calabrese was the owner and operator of Checker Auto Repairs for 25 years. He established the full-service gas station and repair shop in 1981 and eventually grew it to become an eight-employee operation with five mechanics and three gas attendants.
Mr. Calabrese attended Kingsboro Community College and is an alumnus of Brooklyn's James Madison High School. He is a Joe Torre Little League volunteer award recipient and spends his free time fishing, hunting, working on classic cars, and watching NASCAR.
