Most safety professionals manage compliance. I build systems that make catastrophic risk predictable and preventable. That is a fundamentally different job.

With hands-on experience across major hard rock mining operations, I apply Critical Control Management principles drawn from the ICMM Health and Safety Framework, ISO 45001, and the Bow-Tie methodology to identify not just what can go wrong, but precisely where the barriers that stop it are weakest. That is where the real work happens.

I design HSE data analytics systems that turn lagging indicators into leading intelligence. Think Power BI dashboards that track critical control performance in real time, Bowtie risk models that connect operational data to fatal risk scenarios, and CCM implementation frameworks that give site leadership a living picture of risk rather than a static report.

The mines I have worked on run deeper, move more tonnes, and carry more risk than most operations on the continent. Kansanshi is not just a mine. It is one of Africa's most complex copper operations, running dual flotation circuits, SX-EW processing, and an on-site Isasmelt smeltersimultaneously. Keeping people alive in that environment takes more than a checklist.
