Although we have a wide appreciation of music that spans time & genre, our roots remain loyal to Soul & Funk. Matt, actually a Percussionist before a Guitarist, brings an incredible, unbreakable groove & feel. We pride ourselves on a spontaneous & earthy performance, putting our own unique stamp on every song we perform.

ABOUT US: I've been singing since I was 7yrs old. I was trained classically & then discovered Jazz, Soul & Motown! I've been working semi-professionally as a singer in function bands, bars & restaurants since I was 17 years old. In 2003 I went to the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to study a diploma in Popular Music & Sound Technology. After building a steady musical network, I then moved onto my other passion, language! After gaining a BA Hons degree in Spanish I went on to qualify & teach as an ESL Instructor & then completed a PGCE in Modern Languages. I am now a Secondary Teacher in Spanish & French.

Whilst in Liverpool I met Matthew Shaw & we soon recognised our unique chemistry & mutual appreciation for anything truly soulful. We started gigging together in 2005 & after the odd break here made it a full time operation in 2009. With residencies across the North-West & private functions across the UK we soon became a force to be funked with! :)

Matt is incredibly talented. He is a full time musician, plays many instruments & is a singer-composer-lyricist. He was a co-writer of “The Pool Of Life”, the winning entry for the ‘Song For Liverpool’ contest for Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year in 2008. Matt is the son of Robby Shaw of the Liverpool Band ‘Elliot’, nationally recognised in the 70s as one of the UK's best harmony bands.

Matt & I are also known as 'Bobby and Jemima', formed to promote our original music. As an introduction we've released an album of our contorted covers available on iTunes.
