Charles Foust
Superintendent in Wilmington, NC, USA
I am an Executive Leadership Coach and former superintendent with more than 20 years of experience in public education. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to lead large school systems across multiple states, including serving as Superintendent of New Hanover County Schools in North Carolina and Kansas City Kansas Public Schools.
My work has always been centered on improving outcomes for students while building strong, sustainable systems. I have led districts serving over 24,000 students and managed budgets of up to $600 million. In each role, I have focused on creating clear priorities, developing leaders, and driving measurable academic growth.
I believe that leadership is the key to lasting change. That belief has guided my approach, whether I was leading turnaround efforts, coaching principals, or working with district teams to improve performance. I have seen firsthand how aligned leadership can transform schools and create better opportunities for students.
Today, I focus on coaching and developing education leaders. I help them strengthen their systems, improve execution, and lead with clarity and purpose. My goal is simple: to support leaders in creating meaningful, lasting impact in education.
