My life has been an amazing journey, starting in the James Monroe Houses in the Soundview area of the Bronx. I have been fortunate to be able to take advantage of many opportunities that have come my way, both educationally and professionally. The first act of my professional life in San Francisco was an incredibly fun, wild time, and very entrepreneurial in nature-- as a Co-Director and Founder of the Red Rocket Theater Company, and working for unique small businesses such as Millenium Stones and Bruno Brothers restaurant.
In this, my second act, I have spent the last 19 years interested in educational access. Most of my work centers on predominantly low-income, students of color, and this is where I believe the bulk of the work still needs to be done. I am, however, interested in how we educate this nation's children, particularly here in New York. For 19 years, I worked for Prep for Prep; I started as Director of College Guidance (and college access is my first love), and then transitioned to Director of Leadership Development Opportunities. I was the Board Chair for the Invictus Preparatory Charter School in East New York, and was a trustee of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, where I am currently Director of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Institutional Research.
I am a alumnus of the Fieldston School and Harvard College.
A few personal items: I have a crazy, amazing, family, I love to travel, a great meal is one of my greatest pleasures, and I am a huge Yankees fan. I am a frequent flyer miles/points fanatic, and I enjoy spending time in Connecticut with my awesome wife Gina.
