Charles Gant, M.D., PhD, practices functional medicine, psychotherapy, and integrative medicine at National Integrated Health Associates in Washington D.C (www.NIHADC.com). Charles Gant, M.D., PhD scrutinizes in-depth lab tests to treat chronic diseases and disorders. Dr. Gant is best known for his work in addictions and mental disorders, and he specializes in treating substance abuse, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and other mental disorders.
Charles Gant, M.D., has written several books and many articles as well as given lectures nationwide. In 2002, he published End Your Addiction Now: A Proven Nutritional Supplement Program That Can Set You Free, a how-to book with questionnaires to help people find what causes their drug, tobacco, and alcohol problems. A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1971, Charles Gant, M.D., earned his Doctor of Medicine from the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia in 1975. He enrolled in accelerated programs at both schools. Following those degrees, he graduated in 1985 with a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Columbia Pacific University.
Dr. Gant has had postgraduate residency training in both family practice and psychiatry. As Director of the Academy of Functional Medicine, Dentistry and Psychology, Charles Gant, M.D., promotes functional medicine and offers training for healthcare practitioners in order to help them determine the source of chronic health problems. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, his 4 dogs and 3 cats, music, the guitar, woodwinds and after 30 years of voice lessons can finally sing.
